What is the new Support at Home Program?

Support at Home is the new government-funded aged care system that started on 1 November 2025, replacing the Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care programs. It simplifies access to care and provides flexible funding based on individual needs.

Generally, Australians aged 65 and over (or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) may be eligible for government-subsidised home care. Eligibility is determined through an assessment arranged by My Aged Care. Click here Am I eligible for an assessment? | My Aged Care
